Potting or Encapsulation
Potting is a process that significantly enhances the reliability of electronic assemblies. It involves placing a completed electronic assembly in an enclosure and adding a liquid compound to cover it. This process particularly benefits LED assemblies, individual components, and cables/plugs. Encapsulation, on the other hand, is the application of similar liquid compounds to select individual electronic components on a circuit board.
Potting and encapsulation help solve various issues with electronics, including environmental protection, electrical insulation, enhanced mechanical strength, heat dissipation, chemical protection and corrosion protection.
We have an automated potting dispensing system with shot size control for accurate and repeatable production. We can add potting compound to Electronic assemblies, LED assemblies, individual components and cables/plugs.
